Taraje Whitfield is a graduate student at the University of Connecticut (UConn). He graduated from Princeton University where he ran track and field and obtained a bachelors degree in molecular biology. He is now continuing his education as a student enrolled in the Young Innovative Investigator Program (YIIP) where he is pursing a masters degree in biomedical sciences. His research focuses on bone regeneration, and he aspires to take all of his experiences with him to medical school in the future. In addition to his current studies, Taraje serves as the social media manager of the Lifestyle Medicine Interest Group (LMIG) at UConn. He is also an active member of the community and is passionate about outreach, overall health, and diversity/inclusion within all spaces.
