Dr. Helen Wu is an Associate Professor within the department of Psychiatry and the Department of Public Health Sciences at the University of Connecticut School of Medicine. As a social/clinical epidemiologist, she has been conducting research in clinical populations, screening/recruiting thousands of participants including patients with chronic diseases. Recently, she served as a co-PI on two diabetes intervention projects as well as co-I on industry-sponsored clinical trial. In addition, she co-directs the JUMP community outreach in lifestyle changes such as to establish community programs such as UConn Aeroponic Community Gardens, ‘Urban Eats Fresh’, and more in Hartford. Beyond my teaching experiences, my mentoring ranges from junior faculty, post-doctoral fellows, pre-doctoral fellows, Master level mentees, undergraduates students and volunteer summer interns. Many of the mentees were from diverse backgrounds with research rewards.
